Tenting Tips

Once the campsite has been chosen it is time to build the camp, and veteran donkeys recommend paying attention to these matters:

Level the ground. Before setting up the tent, you should clean the chosen campsite, remove stones, low shrubs and other uneven, thorny and sharp things, and fill in the uneven places with earth or grass. In order to facilitate accommodation, dining and entertainment, the camp should also be partitioned, such as tent camping area, fire area, water area, dining area, entertainment area, health area, etc.

When laying out the tent camping area, should pay attention to: all tents should be a direction, that is, tent doors are open in one direction, side by side arrangement; tents should be kept at a distance of not less than 1 meter, in the case of no need to try not to tie the tent wind rope, so as not to trip over people; if necessary, you can use lime, tar and other irritating substances outside the tent area to draw a circle around the tent, set a cordon to avoid insects and snakes and other reptiles intrusion. And when arranging several other partitions, it should be noted that the water area should be divided into two sections on the stream and its rivers, with the upper section being the edible drinking water area and the lower section being the living water area.

The dining area should be next to the fire area for cooking and dining, and this area should be at a certain distance from the tent area to prevent sparks from being blown by the wind and burning the tent. The best place for cooking is to choose a place with earth and rock, so as to dig a stove and build a cooker, and the firewood collected should be stacked outside the activity area or upwind.

Activities and recreation area should be downwind of the dining area to prevent the dust of the activity from contaminating things such as tableware, and should be 15-20 meters from the tent area to reduce the impact on early sleeping companions, while paying attention to cleaning up the site of tripping and bumping into things to avoid accidents.
